關 於 波 特 蘭 新 聞
波特蘭新聞創刊於1997年，自此就成為本地讀者最多的一份免費中文報章，每週四讀者就可在大波特蘭地區的亞裔超市、餐館、禮品店及其它商號取閱。本報致力於豐富和提高在大波特蘭地區，包括西南華盛頓州及整個俄勒岡州的美籍華人的生活素質，波特蘭新聞內容豐富，為讀者們提供最新最全面的消息，包括中、港、台、美國及世界新聞和一些生活性的資訊。
1999年波特蘭新聞發行大波特蘭地區的首本中文黃頁－波特蘭中文黃頁電話簿，受到廣大華人的歡迎，並成為每家每戶必備的一本完全手冊。波特蘭中文黃頁電話簿亦使商家們提供直接進入本地華人家中的機會，從而擴大生意的層面。
宣揚中國文化是波特蘭新聞的宗旨之一，在2000年，波特蘭新聞舉辦了春節慶祝會，成為本地華人社區首個大型新春慶祝活動，並且立即受到中美人士的歡迎，至目前，這個活動已成為本市一個備受主流社會推崇的宣揚中國文化的大型慶祝活動。
到2002年，波特蘭新聞開始數位化，創立網頁 www.portlandchinesetimes.com ，將整張報紙上網，讀者除可透過網絡閱讀本報的新聞外，就連刊載在本報內的廣告亦可一一細讀，更為讀者們提供了不少方便的同時，亦擴大了廣告客戶的接觸層面。
2010年波《特蘭新聞》將業務擴展至西雅圖地區，創立《翡翠新聞》，除原有的新聞外，加入西雅圖及加拿大溫哥華的社區新聞，兩份報章的合併出版，令到美西北區的讀者對區內三地的社區更了解，拉近彼此間的距離，讓廣告的效力更大。
為了配合數碼科技的發展，在2011年，波特蘭新聞將網頁全面改革，加入視頻元素，為本地區的讀者開發網上電視，利用更生動的方式向本地讀者發放更豐富的資訊和新聞。

In 1999, we published the first ever Chinese Yellow Pages in Portland Area. This publication provides many outstanding opportunities for businesses to gain access to thousands of Asian households in the Greater Portland areas.
In 2000, we organized the first Chinese New Year & Cultural Fair, which has grown into such a popularity around town, and now the event has become the biggest Chinese New Year celebration in Portland. This also fulfills our mission of promoting Chinese culture in the area.
In 2002, we launch our web-site www.portlandchinesetimes.com, which enable our readers to read our digital version on line, as well as access to all the advertisements published in the newspaper.
In 2010, we published the Emerald Chinese Times which is distributed in Greater Seattle area, besides the coverage we already have, we added local community news from Greater Seattle as well as Vancouver BC.
In 2011, Portland Chinese Times launches the Web TV, and totally change our popular web-site with more lively layout and vibrant graphics to meet with the high-tech digital world. Through our video our local community can enjoy what's happening around us in a more lively format.
